Personal Sacred Landscape – Invitational Group Show
Curatorial Statement
We humans have such varied views about interpretations of words like Sacred and Landscape. Many themes in this show are reoccurring; Nature, Trees, Paths, Water and Stone. The wonder in the journey, the path, is a common thread.
These external landscapes are something we can experience first hand. When looking at submissions, the ones that resonated as “Sacred” seemed easy to choose, as I felt I was there in the spaces the artists shared with me – the viewer.
As artists we train ourselves to notice everything, but in particular the wonder and beauty in details.
The spiritual journey seems to be that first step in moving out of our own inner dialogue and taking the time to take a good look around us and enjoy the moment of the Now.
For some, the Spirit within the River, an Idea as small as a seed, can hold a Sacredness that is Inside our Own Personal Landscape.
We hoped that you allowed yourself time to view the works in this show, to step into the moments of these artists and see if your own landscapes resonated with these artists’ Personal Sacred Landscape.
